Position: Senior Software Engineer
Site: RatingenStay far-sighted and look at the big picture!
I specialised in automotive engineering as a Mechatronics student at Bochum University of Applied Sciences. On graduating as an Engineer in August 2009, I started work for NSK Europe Ltd at the European Technology Centre.
I was soon promoted from Junior Engineer to Software Engineer. I established myself as a point of contact for both customers and my own division; which led to my promotion to Senior Software Engineer within four years.
I currently act as an interface between clients and the basic development team in Japan. To begin with I was responsible for diagnosing and linking EPS systems; my role now includes coordinating the design of EPS software features. In the future I will be devoting more time to software development.
My day-to-day work is extremely varied and interesting. I work in a multicultural, international environment which I find very enriching. On top of that, I really enjoy testing our systems abroad and supporting students who are writing their theses.
Having a job where I can contribute my own ideas is very important to me; NSK offers me many opportunities for personal development. There are lots of new challenges and options for continuing professional development. The staff are also great: there’s a real sense of team spirit at the European Technology Centre, with people supporting one another.
